Villa Dordi is an ancient noble summer residence in Val di Sella, in the region Trentino, in the district of Borgo Valsugana. It has remained intact over the years, and it is located in a grassy clearing surrounded by its own forest, rich in biodiversity, mostly hosting spruce and beech trees, at about 1000 meters above sea level.
In the villa there are six double bedrooms and four bathrooms. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen with wood stove, electric hobs, microwave oven, fridge and dishwasher, a dining room and a converted chapel which can be used as a playing room (table tennis) or other common activities. On the first floor there is a living room with fireplace, two small balconies and two bedrooms, one with a connected bathroom, and one with a bathroom with access on the landing floor. On the second floor are four additional rooms with two shared bathrooms. Firewood is available in the woodshed, to be used for the two stoves, the fireplace, the wood cookstove and the grills. The water system is heated with solar panels.
Art already discovered that this valley is a unique and magical place in 1986. Ever since, year after year, more than 300 artists have contributed to the creation of “Arte Sella”, one of the most important art parks in the world, a place where the art works coexist with nature, and wait for it to declare their end. A place that changes in respect of environment’s pace and mode. www.artesella.it
There are no shops in Val di Sella. The closest shops are located in Olle and in Borgo Valsugana, about 10 km away. The “Casa nel Bosco” is a place where you need to know how to organize yourself and perhaps even adapt, but it is perfect for those looking for something different from a traditional tourism which is distorting the nature of the mountain. Instead, this is perfect for those looking for peace and silence, having the chance of trips among ancient trees, along with mountain bike excursions on organized trails or just walking around picking mushrooms.
